Y Quicksilver Swim Team
SWIM TEAM TRYOUTS
Are you interested in becoming the next Olympic swimmer from Grand Island? The Grand Island YMCA Quicksilver swim team has already produced an Olympic swimmer in 2004 Olympian Scott Usher and is in the process of producing another in current swimmer Matthew Novinski. Would you like to be added to this list? We are conducting tryouts for anyone interested in becoming a member of our program on September 27, 28, & 30 from 5:30-6:30, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. Coaches will be on hand to evaluate your swimmer, answer questions about the program and your child’s potential, and hand out information about getting started in competitive swimming. All participants who complete the tryouts will be given a coupon for a free trial week of practice good for any week in October. There are no age restrictions, swimmers just need to be able to complete one length (unaided) of the YMCA pool. Call the YMCA for more information or just show up ready to swim. All members of the YMCA Quicksilver swim team also have membership in USA Swimming. Please feel free to share and spread the word. We hope to see lots of new swimmers in the pool!
Our youth swim team is designed for kids ages 5 through 18 who are advanced swimmers and wish to pursue competitive swimming in a fun and positive environment. Coaches will determine with which group the swimmer will train.
